You pasted an Instagram link into Snapinsta, tapped download, and nothing happened. Or you got an error, a spinning wheel, or a page full of ads but no video. It is frustrating, especially when you only want to save your own Reel or a photo you have permission to keep.
The good news is that most download failures come from a handful of simple causes. This guide walks through seven fixes that solve the majority of “snapinsta not working” problems, plus what to do if none of them help. - The post is from a private account, or it has been deleted or archived.

- Check that the account is public. Open the post in a private browser window where you are not logged in to Instagram. If you cannot see it there, no downloader can reach it either. Private posts are protected, and that is by design.
- Copy the right link. Use the Share button and tap Copy link. Post links contain
/p/and Reel links contain/reel/. A profile link, Story link or a link copied from the address bar of a search page will not work. - Confirm the post still exists. If the creator deleted or archived it, the link will return an error. Paste the link into your browser to check that it still opens.
- Pause your ad blocker or content blocker. Some blockers stop the download button or the pop-up that delivers the file. Pause it for the downloader site only, then try again.
- Clear the cache or try another browser. Old cached files can break a page after an update. Clear the browser cache, or simply try Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge instead.
- Turn off your VPN or switch networks. Some VPN and proxy addresses are rate limited because many people share them. Switch to normal Wi-Fi or mobile data and retry.
- Wait and try again, or use an alternative. If Instagram has changed something, or the site is busy, the problem is on the server side. Give it some time, or paste the same link into a different tool such as snaptik ig.
Fixes for Specific Devices
iPhone and iPad
On iPhone, Safari saves files to the Files app, not Photos. If the download seemed to “do nothing”, open Files → Downloads and look there. Android
On Android, check the notification shade for a finished download, then open the Files or Downloads app. If Chrome says the download failed, make sure your phone has enough free storage and that Chrome has permission to save files.
Windows and Mac
On a computer, the file normally lands in your Downloads folder. If the video opens in a new tab instead of downloading, right-click it and choose Save video as….
Error Messages and What They Mean
“Invalid URL” or “Link not supported”
The link is not a public post, Reel or carousel. Copy it again from the Share menu and make sure nothing extra was pasted with it.
“Media not found”
The post was deleted, archived, or is from a private account. There is nothing to download.
“Too many requests”
You or your network sent too many requests in a short time. Wait a few minutes before trying again, especially if you are on a VPN.
Video downloads with no sound
Check that your device is not muted. If Instagram removed licensed music from the original post, the downloaded file will also be silent.
Stay Safe While Troubleshooting
When a downloader stops working, it is tempting to try the first lookalike site in search results. Be careful. A trustworthy tool never asks for your Instagram password, never pushes you to install an unknown app or browser extension, and does not need access to your account.
